How to Replace and Install a Bathtub Waste

After you have removed the plug, the bath waste will allow the bath to drain safely. It is connected to the overflow, which allows water to drain away from the bath if it is plugged in too high.

Sometimes, the bath waste can corrode and leak. It is important to replace these parts so that you don't get too much water damage. Other complications.

Step 1 - Get rid of the old trash

There will be a screw in the middle of your waste cover. You should be able to pull the outer waste cover from the bath by unscrewing it.

You will likely find a large washer under the sink that you should lift out. Make sure to clean out any old sealants so that the new waste can be inserted easily.

Step 2 – Disconnect the pipe and connector

From the bottom of your bath, a plastic pipe runs up to the top of the overflow rise at the end. Connectors are located at each end of the plastic pipe and screwed into the waste trap or the overflow fitting.

Take the pipe out of the connectors. Unscrew the connectors from the respective positions on your bath.

Step 3 – Connect new fittings to the new pipe

Remove the new waste and overflow system and place it in a box.

Recognise the parts and compare them to the fittings that you have just taken off.

Connect the plastic waste to the end of the new pipe. Then, connect the plastic overflow to the other end.
